Cloderic was murdered. His wife was a kinswoman of St. Clothilde, the Burgundian Queen of Clovis I; Clovis I instigated a son of Cloderic to kill Cloderic, hence the term "parricide." This line, the Riparian Branch of the Merovingian House, is from "Ancestral Roots..." (7th edition), line 190.

Fought alongside Clovis in the campaign against the Visigoths. Clovis persuaded Chloderic to kill his father, Sigebert, as he was walking in the forest outside of Cologn. Afterwards, one of Clovis"s Franks split his skull with an axe. He was thereafter known as Chloderic the paracide. He married a kinswoman of St. Clothilde, the Burgundian Queen of Clovis I
